Old wall

 In the heart of the ancient city stands a relic of the past, withstood the ravages of time, containing the stories of countless generations - the Old Wall. Its imposing presence creates a solid connection between the modern world and the mysteries of history. As I approach, the weight of the ages rests on my shoulders, and I go back to a bygone era.

 

The origins of the Old Wall are shrouded in the mist of antiquity, lost in the annals of time. Many believe that it was built centuries ago to protect the city from invading forces or to mark the boundaries of a flourishing civilization. Its construction, a testament to human ingenuity, stands as a marvel of architectural skill, inspiring awe and reverence in all who visit it.


Made of stone cut from nearby quarries, each block bears the marks of its creation, the marks of the skilled hands that toiled to shape them. Time has given the stones a rustic beauty, their sharp edges softened by centuries of exposure to the elements. Moss and ivy have taken root in the crevices, weaving a touch of nature into this man-made masterpiece.


The old wall stretches as far as the eye can see, tracing a labyrinthine path through the heart of the city.

field trip

  First stop:  Today our field journey begins with a beautiful unbroken greenery, which attracts the soul towards itself. Wrapped in a rich blanket of grass, the fields beg for traditional sorghum, paddy, maize, and healthy growing crops. Also, deep green ocean-like crops are in bloom within the fields, providing an opportunity to enjoy the scent of the cool water. Second stop:  The greenery of the fields makes the cultural heritage and this environment even more interesting. Along with the rich festivities of the farmers, their traditional outfits also reflect the atmosphere and diversity of the farms. The continuous reverberating dholak, melodious music and traditional dance and chirping of birds present the cultural identity of the stream adorned with greenery.
